Overview & Highlights

Adi Kailash, revered as the ancient abode of Lord Shiva, lies within Indian territory near the Indo-Tibetan border. Also known as Chhota Kailash, this sacred mountain is deeply significant in Hindu mythology and spiritual tradition. It is believed to be Lord Shiva's oldest dwelling, holding the same divine essence as Mount Kailash in Tibet.

Legend tells us of Ravana, the greatest devotee of Lord Shiva, who traveled from the southern land of Lanka all the way to the remote Himalayas to offer his penance at Adi Kailash. This holy site rests along an ancient pilgrimage route, nestled in the serene and untouched beauty of the Himalayan range. Despite its remote location, the Darshan (sacred view) of Adi Kailash is a profound and rewarding spiritual experience.

Located in Kumaon Mandal of Uttarakhand, Adi Kailash is one of the five sacred Kailash peaks and offers pilgrims a journey filled with peace, spiritual depth, and natural splendor.
