  • If Day 3 was about going over the top, Day 4 is about discovering heaven on Earth. The drive from Nubra to Pangong via the Shyok Valley is one of the most jaw-droppingly beautiful routes in all of India — and the destination? A lake so impossibly blue it looks like a painting.

  • The final full day on the road — and what a day it is. This route back to Leh is arguably the most culturally rich stretch of the entire trip, passing through sites that have been sacred for over a thousand years. Save some battery on your camera — you're going to need it.
    • ☀️ Breakfast in Kargil, then hit the road eastward back towards Leh
    • Mulbek Chamba — Pull over at this incredible roadside wonder: a colossal future Buddha (Chamba statue) carved directly into a giant standing rock face. Dating back to the 8th century, this is one of Ladakh's most ancient and unique monuments
    • 🏯 Lamayuru Monastery — Founded in the 10th century, this is the oldest monastery in Central Ladakh and one of the most dramatic in all of India. Perched on eroded moonlike terrain, it's like stepping into another world entirely
    • 🌑 Moon Landscape (Lamayuru) — Drive through one of Earth's most alien-looking terrains — eroded yellow-grey hillocks that look like they belong on the surface of the moon. An absolute photographer's paradise
    • 🌅 Roll into Leh by afternoon/evening — take a final walk through the market, pick up last-minute souvenirs
    • 🥂 Last night dinner with the group — celebrate an epic journey, exchange numbers, and make plans to come back

  • 🚗 Transfer to Leh Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport with a heart full of memories
  • ✈️ Board your flight home — watch the mountains shrink below you and feel that familiar pang of missing Ladakh before you've even left
  • 🏔️ Tour concludes — but somewhere in these mountains, a part of you always stays behind
