This trip offers the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure, from serene Shikara rides and houseboat stays on Srinagar's Dal Lake to uncovering hidden gems like the Aharbal Waterfalls, also known as the "Niagara Falls of Kashmir," where the sheer power of the cascading water is truly awe-inspiring.

During this journey, we’ll venture into the heart of South Kashmir, with stops at the enchanting saffron fields of Pampore and the scenic meadows of Aru and Betaab Valley in Pahalgam. No backpacker’s adventure is complete without a visit to Gulmarg. Whether summer or winter, Gulmarg is always at its best. A Gondola ride and a visit to Affarwat Peak are absolute must-dos!

The adventure doesn’t end until we explore Yusmarg, also known as the Meadow of Jesus. Here, we’ll trek to the serene blue waters of Nilnag Lake before wrapping up our trip back in Srinagar.

Itinerary

  • Arrive at Srinagar Airport, where you'll meet our representative for a drive to your hotel.
  • Check into your accommodation and enjoy a relaxing 1-hour shikara ride on Dal Lake, starting from Nehru Park on Boulevard Road.
  • Overnight stay at the hotel, soaking in the beauty of Srinagar.

  • After breakfast, embark on a full-day excursion to Sonmarg, also known as "The Meadow of Gold," located 84 km from Srinagar at an altitude of 9,000 feet.
  • Explore the stunning Sindh Valley, adorned with flowers and surrounded by majestic mountains, making it a perfect spot for nature lovers.
  • Optionally, hire ponies for a trip to Thajiwas Glacier, a popular attraction during the summer months, offering breathtaking views and experiences.
  • Drive back to Srinagar in the evening for an overnight stay at the hotel.

  • After breakfast, drive to Gulmarg, also known as the "Meadow of Flowers," located 56 km away at an altitude of 2,730 meters above sea level, with the journey taking about 2 hours.
  • Explore Gulmarg’s renowned ski slopes and the highest golf course in the world, featuring 18 holes, while enjoying stunning views, including Nanga Parbat if the weather permits.
  • Take in the breathtaking scenery along the route from Tangmarg to Gulmarg and consider a short trek to Khilanmarg, which takes approximately 3 to 4 hours, or enjoy the views from the Gondola cable car (available at an additional cost).
  • Drive back to Srinagar in the evening for an overnight stay at the hotel.

  • After breakfast, depart for Pahalgam, passing through Pampore, Avantipura, and Bijbehara, known as the bread basket of Kashmir.
  • Transition from National Highway 1A at Khanabal and drive through Anantnag, the region's second-largest city.
  • Enjoy a scenic drive alongside the Lidder River as you approach Pahalgam.
  • Upon arrival, check into your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure, with an overnight stay in Pahalgam.

  • After breakfast, drive to Srinagar to explore the famous Mughal Gardens, including Cheshma Shahi ("Royal Spring"), Shalimar ("Garden of Love"), and Nishat Garden ("Garden of Pleasure").
  • Visit the historic Shankaracharya Temple, offering stunning views of the city and surrounding landscape.
  • On your return, stop at a local handicrafts showroom to admire and shop for hand-knotted silken carpets, shawls, and jewelry ornaments.
  • Enjoy an overnight stay in a charming houseboat, experiencing the unique ambiance of Srinagar's waterways.

  • After breakfast, spend a leisurely morning exploring Srinagar at your own pace before preparing for departure.
  • Drive to the airport for your onward journey, concluding your memorable tour.
